Meet rising star Kaylee Lauren

Updated: Nov 25

We had the pleasure of having Kaylee Lauren perform at one of our shows recently and we fell in love with her voice immediately. We got to sit down with the singer and ask her some questions...

How did you get your start in music?

I started singing at a very young age and I also did musical theatre as a kid. I started songwriting around 2 years ago when I was in need of a creative outlet, to express my inner thoughts. I posted my first singing Tiktok 3 years ago and it got 50,000 views and I thought “Wow strangers on the internet like my voice”. Ever since then I decided to start posting covers of my favorite songs, until I wrote my debut single “Rollercoaster” and released it into the world!

Where are you from/ has it influenced your music at all?

I am from Los Angeles and I believe living here has definitely influenced my music. I have so many memories in LA which allow me to write songs easily, especially when I drive past places that spark emotions. LA is filled with creatives and I think i’ve found friends that genuinely enjoy content creation and inspire me everyday!

What’s your favorite thing to do on a Saturday?

My favorite thing to do is go the studio and create music. I love being in the studio because the experience allows me to be myself and be extremely vulnerable when writing and creating songs. I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have the space to create and be honest with how i’m feeling, which turns into music that helps others with their own struggles.

What artists influence your sound?

Lexi Jayde, Nessa Barrett, Allie X, and Madison Beer. I love their vocals and expression in every line they sing, it’s truly inspiring.

Do you have any pre show rituals?

I usually practice with my Producer at his studio and then we head to the show! I try to make myself less anxious by not overthinking about what i’m about to do. I also drink hot tea before my shows to prepare my voice.

What is one album that changed your life?

“Young Forever” by Nessa Barrett. I feel so understood by the tracks on this project, as the lyrics covey vulnerability and honesty, which I love. I really take inspiration from this album, melodically and lyrically as I relate to the lyrics and love the production.

What are you looking forward to most in the upcoming year?

I look forward to releasing a EP next year and going on tour hopefully. I would love to start playing more shows and traveling to meet my fans! My supporters are the reason I get to follow my dreams and I can’t wait to give them all big hugs! I would also love to work with more creatives in the industry to help hone my craft and experience more opportunities with new people! I truly love what I do and I’m so grateful that I have amazing fans who support me, so thank you!!
